Costa Rica: Chasing the National Park Treasure

  • Arrival Day: ¡Bienvenidos a Costa Rica!

    Arrive into Juan Santamaria airport. Offbeat staff will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel to check in. Join your group for your first local dinner and an introduction to local culture. Tonight, we will start with orientation and your leaders will give the instructions for the treasure hunt and the thing to look for at the national park. Bienvenidos!

    Lodging: Irazu Hotel

    Day 2: Braulio Carrillo National Park

    Costa Rica is a tiny country, but its biodiversity is huge. It is time to start the journey and find the hidden hints in this national parks. Today the participants will go to Braulio Carrillo National park to seek a clue while walking its trails and see how beautiful nature is.

    Lodging: Irazu Hotel

    Day 3 | Volcan Irazu National Park

    In a day trip to the Highland of Costa Rica, the participants will explore and notice how vegetation changes in the second highest point of the country. Feeling the cool breeze and being amazed by incredibles views, the group will continue searching for clues at this National Park.

    Lodging: Hotel at Orosi Valley

    Day 4 | Tapantí National Park

    Tapantí is well known for tapirs being spotted. If lucky, the OB group will see one, but if not, all the sounds, colors and views combined will be great memories to collect. This national park goes from 700meters up to 3400 meters over the sea level. In other words, a lot can be found if you pay attention while going through its paths. After a long day of walking, the group will have time to chill and recover at the hot springs in Orosí.

    Day 5 | Jaco Beach & Zipline

    Wake up early for breakfast and wear sunglasses because this party is heading to the beach. Costa Rica has around 25% of the land into protected areas by law. It doesn't matter where you are in the country, you are going to find a protected area. Once the group arrives at Jaco Beach and has lunch; in the afternoon the participants will fly above the trees while doing ziplines.

    Day 6 | Carara National Park

    The Rainforest, probably you heard about it when researching Costa Rica. Except that this time you will experience it. Carara is located in the central pacific of the country and is a great example of the rainforest. During this visit participants will learn about the national park and its importance. In the afternoon, walk around Jaco town and do some souvenir shopping.

    Day 7 | Surf Lesson and Back to SJO

    Being that close to the ocean and not taking a surf lesson is something we can not allow. Enjoy the warm water of the pacific ocean and ride waves like locals do. Then enjoy the last meals at the beach before driving back to SJO. It was an incredible week, now is time to digest everything you experienced.

    Day 8 | ¡Buen Viaje!

    Four national parks in a week, not bad! Traveling around the country, looking for clues while exploring the trails is part of the adventure. Costa Rica is proud of protecting nature, and after completing the treasure hunt and knowing the cool facts of the national parks you visit.We encourage you to continue traveling and exploring because the world hides beautiful things waiting to be discovered.
