Dominican Republic Travel Prep: Essential Tips for a Smooth Arrival!

Counting down the days until your Dominican Republic trip? Here’s the information you need to get ready:

Before your trip

First, you’ll want to make sure you pack some reef-safe sunscreen, heat-friendly clothes, and a reusable water bottle. Spending time in the mountains? A light sweater or long-sleeved shirt may be a good idea. Mosquito magnet? Longer pants and eco-friendly insect repellent are a must. Up for some trail walks, city strolls or dancing? Don’t forget your comfy shoes!

Second, an immigration e-ticket must be filled out online before you land. You’ll be asked for your arrival and departure flight information, length of your stay, and accommodation details. A QR code will be generated for you to present when you arrive.

Arriving at the Santo Domingo airport

Once you’re off the plane, you’ll follow the signs for immigration services, keeping your passport and e-ticket QR code handy. You will present these to the immigration official and be ready to answer questions about the purpose of your visit, accommodation and travel plans. 

Next up, head to baggage claim to collect any checked bags and proceed through customs for a final inspection. From there, you’ll walk out to the arrivals hall to be welcomed by our team and head out to the glorious Caribbean heat on your adventure!
